Dear EALTA Members,

The preparations for the 7th EALTA Conference in The Hague have progressed very well thanks to the skill and efforts of the organising team at CITO. The conference programme is accessible on the website. The titles of the three keynote presentations will be announced shortly. The third keynote will be a Felianka Kaftandjieva Memorial Lecture.

Please note that the deadline for registration is May 1. All presenters as well as pre-conference workshop particicipants will also need to register.

There is a very limited amount of places for the workshops available. If you are interested, please register as soon as possible using the form(s) on the website and check the situation.

Following the decision at the Turku AGM, there will be a first EALTA Summer School on "Good Practice in Language Testing and Assessment: an Educational Perspective". It will take palce at the University of York Norwegian Center from June 28 to July 2. The Summer school will be run by Angela Hasselgreen and Neus Figueras. School tutors will be Gudrun Erickson, Eli Moe, Hildegunn Helness and Sauli Takala. Drawing on EALTA´s policy of pro bono work and thanks to the Norwegian Center´s support, the participation fee has been kept at 250 €. This will cover accommodation at University quarters, tuition and materials. The maximum number of participants is 20. More detailed information (eg., how to apply) will be posted very soon.

The Nomination Group, set up in Turku to help organise the two elections at the AGM (May 29, 15.45-17.15), has been preparing the elections. It will start the procedure and contact the members in April.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Hague to attend the conference and to participate in the AGM with two important elections on the agenda.
